OUR STORY
B and Nic have been friends since childhood, and books have been fundamental to their lives and friendship from the very start. They grew up together, endlessly dissecting fantasy stories, crushing on angels and vampires, and knighting each other with foam swords. As they forged their path into adulthood, they both realized their passion for books had only grown with them, and they wanted to share that passion with others by creating a space for readers to connect.
Chimera Bookshop is dedicated to ensuring access to books for all, regardless of their age, status, or location. Just as B and Nic once found themselves between the pages of books, they want others to experience the same joy and comfort that comes from seeing yourself in the stories you love.
Aside from B and Nic’s star signs (Leo and Capricorn, respectively) forming the traditional image of a chimera, the concept of Chimera Bookshop was born from the idea that many marginalized identities are othered and considered “monstrous” by the world at large. That belief has historically been reflected and weaponized in popular media, but Chimera aims to curate a collection of stories that show fellow “monsters” they are not alone. They, too, can save the day, find true love, and come home at the end of the adventure to a proud and loving community.

We want to give a huge shoutout to our friends and chosen families for being our biggest cheerleaders, even when we were just yapping about marketing concepts and color schemes.
